Vegan Shoes

by Scott Hughes

Shopping for vegan shoes can be tricky. Luckily, vegan shoes usually cost significantly less than other shoes, up to 60 to 75 percent cheaper. Mostly, you want to look out for leather, which comes from animal skin and hides.

You can try to find vegan shoes at traditional shops, but you may have trouble figuring out whether or not the shoes are vegan. You can ask the sales clerks, but most of them know very little about their products. Unlike food, shoes usually do not come with a list of "ingredients."

You may prefer to buy vegan shoes through internet venders. You can easily find many internet speciality venders on the internet who sell only vegan products. Unfortunately, buying your vegan shoes on the internet means that you cannot try on the shoes before buying. For that reason, you want to review any online store's return policy before ordering. That way, if you do not like the vegan shoes when you get them, you can just return them.

Personally, I have only ordered from one web-based vegan shop--Vegan Essentials. For that reason, I can only vouch for them. As always, you want to be careful when ordering on the internet. Always perform due diligence. The Better Business Bureau is a good place to check. You can also Google the name of a website to find third-party customer reviews.

If you have vegan friends with similar tastes as you, you can ask them where and how they get their vegan shoes. You may find that they have some great personal recommendations.

I hope this article answered all of your questions about vegan shoes. If you have any remaining questions, or if you have any comments or suggestions, please post them in our Vegan Forums.
